Britain’s Got Talent Winner Jon Courtenay to Host Free Charity Concert

Jon Courtenay, this year’s winner of ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ is joining forces with home-stage.co.uk for a free online concert to raise funds for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal. The event will be live streamed on YouTube on Monday 28th December 2020 at 7:30pm. With a soundtrack including all his Britain’s Got Talent songs and music spanning the classics to rock n roll, Jon’s side-splitting show is sure to leave viewers across Surrey with a happy heart and a huge smile.

Home-stage.co.uk was launched during the first UK lockdown when members of the Royal British Legion realised a need for their activities to be moved online. The new initiative successfully meets one of the charity’s key aims – connecting with the isolated and lonely.

Tom Harrison who raised the seed corn funding for home-stage.co.uk said: “2020 has been a challenging year for us all and we hope that the Jon Courtenay concert will bring some happiness into viewers homes. We are delighted to be able to share the event for free, but we do encourage anyone who watches to donate to the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal in aid of our armed forces.

“The hour long special will make you roar with laughter and maybe shed a few tears. Viewers will definitely be inspired by Jon’s music and the hilarious tales of his family, relationships, and life on tour.”

Jon Courtenay started his stage career as a comedy magician but gradually the magic made way for the piano. Long before triumphing in the 2020 final of Britain’s Got Talent, Jon was a powerhouse live performer with decades of experience touring the world.

Jon said: “I have long been a supporter of the men and women of the UK military and Armed Forces community who serve and sacrifice to protect the freedoms we enjoy today. Whether they’re a soldier, sailor, airman, or even a military spouse or parent who has to say goodbye to a loved one over and over when they are called away on operations.

“I am so pleased to team up with home-stage.co.uk and The Royal British Legion in aid of the Poppy Appeal. Please enjoy my concert and show your support to help make sure no personnel suffer a reduced quality of life.

“With the second Covid-19 lockdown causing many issues in November and fundraising more important than ever, I wanted to contribute with a fundraising Christmas concert that anyone can join in exchange for a donation on 28th December from 7.30pm.”
