There are just a few more days to visit the fascinating exhibition about Godalming’s Saxon founders at Godalming Museum. ‘Godalming’s Secret Cemetery’ tells the story of the discovery and excavation of a remarkable archaeological site in the centre of the town, which turned out to be a 9th – 12th century cemetery.
This unique survival throws light on the earliest history of Godalming and particularly on the lives and deaths of its inhabitants. The exhibition is open Saturday 10th, Monday 12th and Friday 16th October. Ring 01483 426510 to book your visit. If you are in town it’s worth checking the museum front door for any visits available on the day.
