It’s always a treat going to David and Lynn Paynter’s fabulous house and magnificent garden near Haslemere for their annual Art & Soul Exhibition as part of Surrey Artists’ Open Studios.
This usually takes place in June, so it was lovely this year to see their garden in a different light, with an early autumn feel, some lovely grasses and late summer plants in bloom. Another array of lovely sculptures, including Mr Fox (above) who happily found a new home while I attended this morning!
New this year is a fabulous Walled Garden, with some very clever touches including a moving wall of water, some terrific planting and two ingenious mirrored ‘doorways’ which I am going to try and copy at home. A very restful spot to enjoy a gin and tonic in the autumn sunshine!
There are 57 outdoor sculptures for sales this year, with a number of paintings and smaller sculptures also available in the two studios. For some images I took, please visit the VantagePoint Instagram page at www.instagram.com/p/CFRolqZBEo9/?igshid=1dbh1tt7t2wo.
