At Oakleaf, we are adjusting to the times and moving forward best we can. We are now offering 22 different activities, training and support virtually to hundreds of clients, as well as our 1:1 counselling service and evening Safe Haven.
Our current online activities:
Tai Chi, Choir, Sleep, Creativity, IT Training, Nutrition, Art Therapy, Women’s Support, Yoga, Fitness, Budgeting, Pilates, CV Writing, Life Coaching, Cookery, Men’s Support, LGBT+ Support, Check in and Chat, Anxiety Management, Mindfulness, Quiz nights, Drama
Our creative workshops in particular have found a new virtual platform and with it a shared online community for our clients. We run two online art-based workshops: Creative Therapy and Art Therapy, which serve as a space where participants struggling with feelings of isolation, anxiety or depression are able to join in without leaving the safety and comfort of their own homes.
At Oakleaf, we believe that creativity and better mental health go hand in hand. In our latest article, we shine a light on some of the wonderful work that is going on behind the scenes to help maintain and strengthen this connection.
We have also been working on our plan to resume face-to-face services, and are keen to welcome back our clients and volunteers to Oakleaf HQ as soon as it is possible to do so safely. Nonetheless, even after we are open once more, some of the groups, activities and training can and will continue to be offered remotely.
Upcoming Fundraising Events:
Side With 17
Approximately 17% of people will experience a common mental health problem in any given week. So, we are asking you to use the week of 20–26th July to run 17 miles in order to raise both awareness of mental ill-health and raise much-needed funds.
10th Virtual Quiz
Join us for our 10th and final (for now) virtual quiz since lockdown on Wednesday 29th July at 7pm. Using Zoom’s breakout rooms, this popular quiz night fundraiser promises to be social, entertaining and best of all – it will have prizes!
Tour de Oakleaf
Missing out on the Prudential RideLondon this year? We challenge you to match this Olympic legacy by cycling 50 or 100 miles in your local area on Sunday 16th August to raise much-needed funds for Oakleaf.
If you have any questions, please email: firstname.lastname@example.org
We know that these are challenging times for all. However, if you are in a position to donate and/or share our Coronavirus Emergency Appeal with your network or on social media, we would be incredibly grateful. To all those who already support Oakleaf, we can’t thank you enough.
