Phyllis Tuckwell’s Christmas Lights Tour

Local charity Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice Care is on the ho-ho-hunt for houses to join its Christmas lights display this festive season!

Each Christmas, families and friends love seeing houses decked out with twinkling fairy lights and sparkling Santas, deciding which is their favourite and marvelling at the creativity of each house’s owners. From glittering lights around windows, to multi-coloured porches and Santas climbing down the chimney, we all know a local resident who creates an amazing festive scene across front of their house to celebrate this wonderful time of year.

Phyllis Tuckwell would like to join together all of these magical spectacles by creating a Christmas lights tour across its catchment area of West Surrey and North East Hampshire. It is inviting anyone who would like to be involved in decorating their house for Hospice Care, to get in touch. Your house would be featured on a map of the area, along with all the other displays, inviting people to come and see the very best local Christmas lights this year, and show their appreciation by making a donation to support Phyllis Tuckwell.

“With the pandemic affecting the lives of everyone this year, we’d like to bring a bit of festive joy this Christmas,” said Charli Quay-Barnham, Community Fundraising Manager at Phyllis Tuckwell. “By joining our Christmas lights display, you can raise money to help fund the vital care we provide to local patients and their families, as well as putting a smile on the faces of those who come to see your wonderful festive lights.”

Throughout the pandemic, Phyllis Tuckwell has continued to provide supportive and end of life care for local patients and families who are living with an advanced or terminal illness, such as cancer. However, it has had to cancel many of its recent fundraising events because of the pandemic, and this has had a severe impact on its fundraising income. This year, could you go crazy for Christmas and decorate your house to help raise money for Phyllis Tuckwell?
