On Sunday 22nd September 2019, over 50 members and supporters of the East Surrey Branch of the Motor Neurone Disease Association attended a special Sunday Roast Lunch organised by the Branch at Surrey Downs Golf Club near Tadworth.
As well as an excellent three-course Sunday lunch, courtesy of the golf club, a raffle at the event helped to raise £800, which will help the Branch continue its vital services to local people living with Motor Neurone Disease.
Motor Neurone Disease (MND) is a rapidly progressive terminal neurological condition which kills, on average, six people every day within the UK. It can leave people unable to walk, talk or even feed themselves, whilst their mind and senses invariably remain unaffected. Average life expectancy from diagnosis is just 14 months and, as yet, there is no cure or effective treatment. The East Surrey Branch of the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA) provides care and support to around 60 people living with MND throughout the East Surrey area, as well as helping to fund vital research into the disease itself. To find out more about Motor Neurone Disease and the work of the MND Association, together with how you can support your local Branch, please visit www.mndassociation.org or contact Simon Edmands on 07753 821964 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
