The Kings Arms and Royal Hotel is a coaching inn conveniently located on Godalming High Street with a long history that dates back to 1639. The hotel is a good base for visiting the Surrey Hills with its many quaint villages, as well as Winkworth Arboretum.
There is free parking for guests but there are various car parks nearby and within easy walking distance. They have had a few famous guests over the years including Tsar Peter the Great (who left without paying his bill!) as well as some European “royalty” who met here in 1814 to discuss post war Europe after the Battle of Trafalgar.
