Local Balloon Professional Earns Recognition as Certified Balloon Artist

Amy Brown of AJ’s Balloon Decor in Thursley, Surrey recently earned Certified Balloon Artist (CBA®) status. This required a series of tests, including oral and practical examinations. The certification was administered by the Qualatex Balloon NetworkSM (QBN®), which is dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in balloon décor. Worldwide, there are currently over 2,000 Certified Balloon Artist professionals.

“The education I’ve received as a result of pursuing my CBA designation will be invaluable in helping me continue to provide high-quality, professional balloon products and services to every one of my clients,” said Amy. “I have been a Balloon Decorator for 9 years now and it feels fantastic to have achieved this certification. My business provides professional helium and air-filled balloon décor for your events. I am passionate about the transformative effect balloons have, the endless design possibilities available, and the power they hold to impress. “This year we have focused on growing our corporate client base,” Amy continued. “We’ve delivered exciting décor for a variety of events, each with a different theme!”

Amy’s enthusiasm is palpable. “I am very conscientious about working with safe, smart balloon practices, limiting any possible effects on the environment.  Only 100% bio-degradable latex balloons are used, and I do not endorse balloon releases of any kind. All customers are advised to follow guidelines on the safe use and disposal of their balloons.”

“Air-filled décor is one of my staples and has many advantages over the use of helium. Not only are you eliminating the risk of balloons being accidentally released into the atmosphere, but air-filled décor is long-lasting, delivering excellent value for money.”

Participants in the CBA Practical Exams are graded according to their knowledge of theory as well as the application of key design elements. In preparation for the exams, Amy was required to study a series of DVDs and written materials.

The CBA certification process is a key program in the Qualatex Balloon Network, which establishes industry standards and guidelines for balloon professionals and supports balloon retailers through education, business systems, and marketing.

The QBN curriculum covers balloon arrangements, deliveries, and decor for social expression, parties, and special events. QBN also serves as an international resource of ideas and solutions for its members, of which there are over 10,000 worldwide.
