The Post Baker.
There are numerous benefits to being a dog owner, and the good by far out way the bad, however a dog is for life and not just for Christmas and dogs need a walk every day. Come rain or shine. I do sometimes wonder if dog owners in the warmer climates face the same dread as us hardy Brits? Faithfully we pull on layer after layer listening to it blowing a gale outside, twigs, leaves and rain battering against our windows, wind whistling under the door, all the while our beloved hounds giving us their best puppy dog eyes, wrenching at our hearts to take them out for a stroll.
I know what you are thinking, what do dogs have to do with baking? Bear with me on this…
As soon as we are out, it goes one of two ways, there is either not enough layers or there are far too many. I don’t think in my 7 years of walking my dog on a winters day I have ever walked back into the house at the right temperature. I am either absolutely freezing, or I am drenched in sweat that has now gone cold, so I may as well have not even bothered with the layers in the first place.
The long-winded point I am trying to make is that as soon as I am back home from a dog walk, the first thing I do is get into some comfy clothes and get the kettle on and scour the kitchen for a sweet treat to accompany my tea as I de-thaw from the outdoor elements.
A few months ago, a good friend of mine embarked on a very brave and courageous move to start up her own business. Clare is a very talented baker and, before starting her on company she would bake cakes for special occasions for friends and family, with a little encouragement from some of her nearest and dearest, The Post Baker was born.
I was privileged enough to witness this venture from the beginning, and all the thought that went into make the business what it is today. Clare wanted to create a product that was easy to distribute to her clients, in the current climate, there needed to be a safe way to ensure the product was reaching her clients whilst obeying the government guidelines. The answer was through the letterbox! It meant non-contact delivery and it made it easier for the consumer to press a button online and the brownies were delivered a few days later.
Each week there are different flavours to choose from. The Brownies come with eight per box and if there is a particular Brownie that stands out you can order a box of your favorites! It would be rude for me to stand by and not taste test all of them, all in the name of market research of course. My personal preferences are the White chocolate Terry’s chocolate Blondies and the galaxy caramel Brownies; however, it really is a tough call as they are all brilliant!
Before we were in lockdown, I had a girlie picnic and I took a box along to that, I was also asked to host a baby shower so again The Post Baker came to the rescue, I was also lucky enough to buy my first house this year and the tenants living in the house vacated early, so a box of brownies was a lovely gesture to say thank you for that. They really are great for all occasions, and such a welcome treat to come home to after a long day. I can’t recommend The Post Baker highly enough, Clare really is a very talented baker and such an approachable soul, who goes out of her way to make sure her clients are happy.
If you have a sweet tooth or know someone who does, this is the perfect gift. To recieve a box of these slices of heaven get in touch! You will not regret it.
