Painshill invites visitors to a series of fun nights out this autumn and winter

A series of cracking nights of stand-up comedy is planned for Painshill in Surrey this autumn and winter.

The historic 18th century landscape garden has teamed up with Crack Comedy to bring both well-known and up and coming comedians to the intimate indoor setting of the Abercorn Room in October, November and December.

The planned line-up is:

Wednesday, October 6: Host Erich McElroy with Catherine Bohart, Harriet Kemsley, and James Bran

Wednesday, November 10: Host Erich McElroy with others including Laura Lexx and Robyn Perkins

Wednesday, December 8: Host Erich McElroy with others including Marcel Lucont and Jenny Collier

Director Paul Griffiths said: “Laughter is more important than ever in the current climate, and we are delighted to have partnered with Crack Comedy to bring these brilliant comedians to Painshill.
“We look forward to welcoming visitors for a fun night out – as well as raising much-needed funds for our small independent charity.”

Designed in the 18th century by the Hon Charles Hamilton, Painshill fell into ruins until it was saved by the Painshill Park Trust in the 1980s. Today, Hamilton’s fantastic follies have been restored to their original glory, introducing visitors to magical replicas of temples and towers, Abbey ruins, a crystal grotto, Serpentine lake, vineyard, and a heritage collection of trees and shrubs.
Shows are suitable for those aged 18 and over and will run from 7pm until 10pm each night. Tickets cost £20 each.
