Godalming Race review – Sunday 19th May

The team at VantagePoint took part in the Godalming 10 & 5k races on Sunday with some great results. The race was directed by Sport Godalming and was a well-organised and enjoyable family event – as well as providing challenging routes for the more competitive runners. It was a great mix of road and trail running and took in parts of Godalming and Charterhouse School with a ‘sting in the tail’ hill at 8km with a climb up the back of the Meath centre, just as you thought you were coming to the end.

Sponsorship was provided by Alton Sports, who kindly provided winners and spot prizes, Charterhouse Club and Trade Direct Insurance – with additional support from Godalming Town Council, Surrey County Council, Waverley Borough Council, Waverley Harriers, Sport Godalming– providing medals, post-race snacks, water stations and St John’s Ambulance.

Care for Health  provided very welcome post-race massage and VantagePoint magazine provided some welcome cakes for the 1k Fun Run runners.

Some 700 people took part in the 3 races: Fun Run, 5k and 10k and prizes were provided by Alton Sports and Waverley Harriers provided a great number of volunteers who marshalled the event and provided very welcome encouragement to all the runners.

Team VantagePoint: Marcus, Claire, Jesse and Sarah. Claire and Jesse ran the 5k with Sarah running in the 10k and Marcus offering valuable support!

Definitely on our race calendar for next year!
