Friday 28th June 2019 (2-5pm)
This is your chance to visit and enjoy (yes, enjoy!) an afternoon at Oak Hall Care Home which will be opening as part of the National Care Homes Open Day on 28th June. Oak Hall opened in November on the site of the former Wispers School in Haslemere and is run by the Elizabeth Finn Homes Group which has been voted one of the top twenty care home groups in England.
Enjoy a cream tea in the Bistro; a glass of Pimms; help residents and pupils from St. Bartholomew’s School paint canvasses; enjoy musical entertainment and drama performances (some by The Royal School); chat to staff, residents and volunteers; see crafts and displays; wander in the beautiful grounds (well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome too).
In the press, stories about Care Homes are often full of gloom and doom and the positive aspects are glossed-over. However, in Care Homes, life can still be happy, stimulating and a great deal of fun. This is your chance to find out how and why.
All ages welcome.
