VantagePoint was set up more than 12 years ago as a community magazine with an ethos to assist local businesses, charities and organisations spread the word about themselves to the largest possible audience, delivered freely by Royal Mail to all local homes. Nothing much has changed since, except we have expanded the magazine, which now reaches over 124,000 homes, and launched a weekly email which goes to more than 27,000 subscribers. We were awarded the Trade Mark Surrey Hills in 2018 in recognition of our support for local businesses, products and services.
VantagePoint Magazine is delivered the first week of the month and is packed full of varied and interesting features including food, gardening, motoring, fashion, community features, travel, walks and competitions. We also promote charities and community organisations and our Jottings section offers readers the greatest coverage of forthcoming local events and community information.
Your View is our weekly email which goes out every Friday to more than 27,000 subscribers. Your View promotes local businesses, charities and events, and includes community information, follow-ups from previous charitable campaigns, local news stories, links to interesting features and more. We also promote it through local community boards and through our own social media channels.
We offer a wide variety of advertising options in both the magazine and online, which will suit any budget. If you need to get your message out post-lockdown, this is the best way of reaching as many local people as possible:
We have five editions of the magazine, covering: Dorking & Leatherhead (25,859 copies); Farnham & Villages (23,142 copies); Godalming & Cranleigh (25,091 copies); Guildford & Villages (25,802 copies); and Haslemere, Midhurst & Petworth (23,650 copies). You can advertise in just one magazine or target a wider area by promoting yourself in multiple editions and reach up to 124,000 households.
Our display adverts in the magazine start from £100 + VAT and we offer discounted packages if you advertise for 3, 6 and 12 months and/or in multiple editions. We have a FREE advert design services for all advertisers and can also offer social media support and free advertorial features on the 6 and 12 month packages. We can also offer advertorial features instead of larger display adverts for those businesses that want a more in-depth promotion of their business and services. For small traders, we have our business card section, where prices start from just £25 + VAT for a 12 month booking.
Our weekly email provides a low-cost opportunity to advertise events, product and services. You can have a display advert or a feature which includes an image, some text and a link to your own website or an in-depth feature on the VantagePoint website. Prices start from just £35 + VAT. Because it is weekly, Your View is a very useful channel to get information out close to the date of an event or to promote a new product or service without waiting for the next issue of our magazine.

For charities and community groups
We offer many free opportunities for local charities and community groups to let people know that they are ‘back in business’ and once again promote events and fund raising activities:
Our Jottings section is the place to promote what you are up to. This is a free service for charities and not-for-profit community groups/organisations and offers the greatest coverage of any other local publication. Simply send us 60-80 words by the first of the month prior to the month of your event and we will print it in the magazine. This is also a good way of recruiting new members and volunteers or promoting a new service. We also feature a ‘Profile’ page every month, which is an in-depth promotion of a local charity, group or organisation. This is also free but does need to be booked in advance as it is a very popular feature and is subject to availability.
Our weekly email provides the ideal platform to promote an event or service in more detail, as we are less constrained by word counts. Being weekly and online, it also offers more opportunities, as we can also feature images, links and videos and also promote an event or service that missed being in the magazine due to print deadlines. It also offers an opportunity to report back on an event or fundraising appeal. Again, this is a free service for charities and not-for-profit community groups/organisations and subject to availability.
