New Surrey Hills Artisan Festival will celebrate the best local food, drink, art, crafts and produce

The newly-launched Surrey Hills Artisan Festival 2021 will take place on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th July as a showcase of the very best of the Surrey Hills’ food, drink, art and crafts.

The first event of its kind, the two-day outdoor festival at Denbies Wine Estate in Dorking will celebrate Surrey Hills artisans, allowing visitors the opportunity to purchase locally-made produce, arts and crafts, learn new skills, sample delicious food and drink, and see master craftspeople in action.

Organised by Surrey Hills Enterprises, the Community Interest Company that works with local businesses to support the rural economy and promote, protect and enhance the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), in partnership with Denbies Wine Estate, Surrey Hills Arts and Surrey Artists Open Studios, and kindly sponsored by Saffery Read, the Festival will offer something for everyone, from adults to children alike.

Ideal for those wanting to learn a new practical skill, for families looking for a fun day out, or for those keen to take some local food, drink, art or crafts home, the Surrey Hills Artisan Festival is a must-visit this summer.

Taking place in Denbies’ Bacchus Field, with views across to Box Hill and an enviable setting amongst the growing grape vines, there will be the chance to meet local artists, gain knowledge from outstanding artisans keen to share their skills, buy from local creatives and see intriguing craft making taking place.

These fascinating activities, and the event as a whole, have been organised with all government Covid safety guidelines put in place, including social distancing and other measures, to ensure the safety and enjoyment of those attending.

Browse an array of stalls offering food, wine, beer, gin, chocolate, skincare, jewellery, textiles, woodwork, glass, ceramics, painting, sculpture and more, each with something different from the next. Between the interactive demonstrations and quality Surrey Hills artisan products available to buy, enjoy a wide variety of food and drink from within the Surrey Hills – enjoy a wood-fired pizza, a zingy Thai curry, delicious African cuisine, vibrant street food, handcrafted doughnuts, a glass of Surrey Hills wine, or perhaps even a Silent Pool Gin and tonic!

The Surrey Hills Artisan Festival 2021 will take place from 10am to 5pm on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th July, at Denbies Wine Estate, Dorking. Tickets are priced at £6.00 if purchased in advance or £7.50 on the gate, with free entry for children under 12. Advance ticket sales are encouraged – book ahead to secure your place. Advance ticket sales close at 12 noon on Friday 2nd July. Onsite parking is free, or alternatively, Dorking railway stations are a 15-minute walk from the vineyard.

In the event of postponement of the Festival, due to reasons beyond the organisers’ control, notice will be given; please check the website for any updates.

The Surrey Hills Artisan Festival is generously sponsored by Saffery Read – creating bespoke solutions encapsulating concept design, architecture, building surveying, project management and interior design.
