Truelove’s opens new Ashtead branch

Local Funeral Directors, Monumental Craftsmen and Repatriation Specialists W A Truelove & Son Ltd have recently announced that they have opened a new branch in Ashtead, Surrey.

The Ashtead branch is their nineteenth branch and will join Truelove’s 15 branches in Banstead, Caterham, Cheam, Coulsdon, Dorking, Epsom, Fetcham, Leatherhead, Mitcham, Morden, Motspur Park, Oxted, Reigate, Wallington and Worcester Park as well as their three branches in Sutton in sympathetically meeting the needs of local families.

The new Ashtead branch is located at 7 Craddocks Parade in Lower Ashtead, in the parade of shops near the junction of Craddocks Avenue, Woodfield Lane and Barnett Wood Lane.  Truelove’s have been looking to open a branch in Ashtead for a few years now since opening their Leatherhead branch in 2012 and their Fetcham branch in 2017, but have been waiting to find appropriate premises.

Before opening the new branch, Truelove’s carried out a complete refurbishment of the premises to turn it into a very comfortable funeral home, complete with a very efficient air conditioning system.  For anyone visiting the new branch, there is good on street parking, both in the service road outside the branch, and on both Craddocks Avenue and Woodfield Lane.

The new Ashtead branch is being managed by Mrs Michelle O’Sullivan, who is very experienced and has been with Truelove’s for a number of years.  Michelle joined Truelove’s as the manager of their Dorking branch following the death of her husband in 2011.  She ran that branch very efficiently and caringly for three years before being promoted to become Truelove’s Business Development and Community Relations Manager.

Michelle is a qualified funeral arranger who was awarded her Certificate in Funeral Arranging and Administration by the London Association of Funeral Directors in 2012.  Michelle was born, grew up and was educated locally, before becoming a nurse and specialising in palliative care.  This experience, couple with her family history, help her to be especially understanding and empathetic to the needs of the bereaved families and friends of people in our community who have sadly passed away.

Established in 1885, W A Truelove & Son Ltd is proud to still be an independent family business 134 years after it was founded.  Their current Managing Director, Simon Truelove, is the fourth generation Truelove Family Funeral Director.

Truelove’s can handle all aspects of funeral arrangements, including cremations, burials and “Green” burials.  They offer a wide variety of services and products.  As well as their own extensive fleet of Daimler and Jaguar hearses and limousines, they can provide horse-drawn, motorcycle, vintage and lorry hearses.  They also have a huge range of coffins, caskets and ashes caskets available, some of which can be printed with almost any design or picture.
