Home Counties Carers Art Competition: Stay Home, Stay Safe

The closing date for Home Counties Carers lockdown art competition has been extended! The closing date is now Monday 1st June, after half-term.

The kids may be in lockdown but they’ve still got a lot of school work to do! Hopefully this extension will give children who want to get involved the time to get creative.

The theme of the competition is Stay Home, Stay Safe.

Entries can be in any format – drawings, paintings, collages, computer generated art etc.

For judging purposes there are 3 categories.

Ages 5 to 8 inclusive
Ages 9 to 12 inclusive
Ages 13 to 16 inclusive

All the prizes have been kindly donated and sponsored by local businesses and members of the community.

The first prize for each category is a £50 voucher from the shop of their choice.

Further prizes include –

£30 worth of One4all vouchers donated by the Horsley Convenience Store and Post Office

A £20 voucher donated by Daisy Maison, the gift shop in the village.

Quaich Coffee Shop are giving away drinks and cake for 2 once the lockdown is over.

Love Cake will be baking special, personalised cake for a celebration of choice (birthday, end of lockdown celebration etc).

A colourful knitted rainbow to hang in a window has been knitted by Judith Hunter.

Local artist Tiffany Budd has donated a copy of her colouring in book and she will also help judge the competition.

Masterpieces are being exhibited in the window of Quaich, the coffee shop in East Horsley, and local charity Cherry Trees UK , along with artist Tiffany Budd, will act as judges and choose the winning entries after the closing date.

We are sharing your artistic creations with the people that we care for and all entries also being posted online on Facebook.

We are collecting your artwork digitally and printing it out for the window display. You can scan or take a photo of what you have created on your or your parent’s mobile and email it to iclift@homecountiescarers.co.uk.

Alternatively if you are in or passing through East Horsley you can post your creations through our letterbox. The address of our office is 22A Station Parade, East Horsley, our front door is between the Woking Hospice Charity Shop and The Bakery.

Please write your first name on your works of art and when sending them in please also let us know your age and give us a contact telephone number so that we can get in touch if you win a prize. In taking part in the competition you agree that we can display your entries and share them online. Ages and contact details will not be shared.
