Beginner’s Day at Farnham Roller Hockey Club

Farnham Roller Hockey Club hosted a Beginner’s Day at Farnham Leisure Centre for juniors in their first season of roller hockey.   Seven teams of U13 and U11 players took part in a training session and then a series of matches as an introduction to the basics of match play.

The U13 competition was very tight with every team winning 1 match, and the places in the final had to be decided by goal difference and then results between the teams.  The final was won by the Farnham RHC ‘A’ team one nil against Bordon Skaters ‘A’, gaining revenge for their earlier defeat in the group stages of the competition.

The U11 competition was almost as tight, and the group stage was won by St Peter’s CofE school’s B team ahead of teams from Rowledge CofE school, Farnham RHC ‘B’, and Bordon Skaters ‘B’ .  They then had a play off against the St Peter’s ‘A’ team from the U13 competition, and the honours were shared as the match ended in a nil nil draw.

Farnham Roller Hockey Club have been going since 1975, and play matches at Senior, U15, U13 and U11 levels and are always welcoming to new players from ages 6 to 60, of all ability levels.

If you would like to know more, you can pop along to one of their sessions free of charge for a taster – all equipment provides. Sunday evening 5pm or Bordon Monday and Tuesday 6pm.
