Broadwater Park Staycation Run

Our own running enthusiast Sarah, took part in the Waverley Harriers  ‘Staycation’ fun run on Saturday morning at Broadwater Park. The total number of runners was 104. A split of 53 male runners and 51 female inc 14 children.

Waverley Harriers had organised the fun run, supported by Waverley and Godalming town council, with lady Mayor Penny Rivers who started the race – which saw participants either doing a 2.4k or 5k route, snaking around the edge of the recreation ground, around Broadwater Lake, past Guildford rugby Club and back for a further lap or 2 and ending at the play area. The Mayor also handed out medals to all the finishers. The route was flat and manageable for all levels of runners, and plenty of room along the paths to enjoy the lake and the anglers in action ! ‘ A really friendly atmosphere, with many youngsters taking part, and hope this will be the first of many more fun runs around the lake’ – Sarah VantagePoint Magazine:
