Farnham Roller Hockey Club are thrilled to announce that Hannah Sollars, has earned a place in the England Ladies U17 squad for the Euro Cup tournament in Matera, Italy in December. Hannah started playing roller hockey for Farnham seven years ago at the age of eight, and has steadily progressed to international level, through hard work, commitment to the game and support from the club and her family.
The final selection for the squad was made after a tough four day training camp in Soham, Cambridgeshire, where the squad was whittled down from thirteen to ten players. Hannah performed well throughout the camp and sealed her place in the team.
Furthermore, Lucy Collis, another Farnham player, who narrowly missed out on the final list, has been selected for a standby place on the squad, in the event of injury/illness.
Hannah and Lucy have been part of the National Training programme, and Youth Ladies programme for a number of years, and have been on many training camps in the UK and abroad with these schemes, along with several other Farnham girls that will be hoping to follow in their footsteps in the coming years.
Farnham Roller Hockey Club was established in 1975 and has produced many England players over the years, but have an aim of getting as many people as possible playing the sport and having fun.
