VantagePoint has teamed up with The Surrey Hills Area of Natural Beauty family to celebrate the 70th anniversary of protected landscapes, as it was in 1949 that the government passed an Act of Parliament to establish national parks and AONBs.
The theme of the photography competition is
‘the Surrey Hills landscape’.
There will be two age categories, one for over 16s and one for 16s and under.
How to Enter
You can enter as many photos as you like via email to email@example.com. Please ensure that all entries are accompanied by your name, age and full contact details.
Images should capture the very best of the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (from countryside views to architecture/sculpture in towns and villages etc). Images must be landscape shaped and at least 300dpi in size and over 2mb in jpg format.
The competition is open to both amateurs and professionals, photographers can submit as many pictures as they like. By entering, you agree that all images can be used in the future with a full attribution by VantagePoint and the Surrey Hills AONB.
The judges will be professional photographer John Miller; Gordon Jackson, Chairman of the Surrey Hills Society; John Senior, owner of aerial photography company From the Air; and Phil Kemp, VantagePoint’s writer and photographer.
Among the prizes for the winners will be:
Over 16s Category: a limited-edition signed Surrey Hills AONB print, a hamper of goods from members of Surrey Hills Enterprises and membership to the Surrey Hills Society.
16s and Under Category: a limited-edition signed Surrey Hills AONB print, an Adventure Day for two with the Surrey Hills Adventure Company and a family trip on the Wey & Arun Canal.
The winning images will feature in VantagePoint magazine reaching 121,000 homes and will also appear on the VantagePoint and Surrey Hills AONB websites. In addition, all images will be shown on the VantagePoint Instagram account.
There will also be prizes for the runners-up in each category.
The deadline for entries is 15th September 2019.
