Surrey Hills is one of England’s finest landscapes, covering a quarter of the county of Surrey. It is a spectacular landscape, rich in wildlife and heritage. In 2018, Surrey Hills celebrates the 60th anniversary of its designation as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Celebrations include a range of events and activities for all the family including the Surrey Hills Sculpture Garden throughout May and the Surrey Hills Wood Fair on 6th and 7th October.
Now in its 10th year, the Surrey Hills Sculpture Garden is the largest ephemeral sculpture event in Surrey and a celebration of local landscapes and artists run in conjunction with Surrey Sculpture Society.
Over 150 high quality exhibits using natural materials and themes are set within the beautiful landscape of woodlands, meadows and lakeside in the grounds of Birtley Estate within Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
It makes a great day out for all the family with refreshments on site or take your own picnic and enjoy the stunning surroundings, sculptures, woodland trail or lakeside walk for as long as you wish. Combine your visit with a craft workshop or demonstration. A marquée located on the lakeside meadow holds an indoor exhibition and provides a base for visitors during the day.
Find out more and book ahead – you don’t have to specify the day and the ticket entitles you to visit as often as you like over the month.
