Summer is here and some amazing musicians are tuning up and honing their favourite riffs for the Albury Music Festival! Keep the date free – Sunday July 21st from 2pm – 8pm.
This family event brings together lovers of music and talented local musicians while raising money for charity. The main beneficiary this year is Oakleaf Enterprise, a mental health charity based in Guildford that helps to transform lives & build new futures for adults managing mental ill-health. Money raised from donations at the festival also supports local good causes.
This year’s fantastic line up includes folk, blues, new wave, rock, Americana – and more. Ghosts, a lively Jam covers band, kick off the music at 2pm. Following throughout the afternoon we have the fabulous Jackie Lynton Band with their rock and blues, Katy Hurt’s country rock and some big jazz sounds from the The Ron Green Big Band. Get to practise your dance moves later with Matt Dunning’s DJ Set and the Fabulous Nobodies who end the day’s music with their lively dance covers.
Refreshments from local suppliers are on sale all day, including real ales and a delicious BBQ. There are activities and stalls to entertain the children. Picnic blankets and chairs are welcome but there is a charge for gazebos – please see the website. www.alburymusicfestival.com
Entry to the festival is free, with bucket donations welcomed on the day. Do bring your family and friends to this great local event!
The Albury Music Festival is sponsored by Silent Pool Gin Distillery.
