The Godalming Run

The countdown starts to the annual Godalming Run on Sunday 13th May and organisers are calling on you to enter a 1K Fun Run, tough 5k race or challenging 10k. By taking part you will help to raise funds for Sport Godalming’s Go for Gold Champions Fund, benefitting aspiring Olympians and Paralympians from our area.

Michael O’Sullivan, Vice Chairman of Sport Godalming, said: “Now is the time to pull together and provide our young athletes with as much support as possible. We have just over two years until the 2020 games and with the right backing and encouragement we hope they will be able to compete”.

19-year-old Patrick Croghan who sails in the 29er class added: “I’ve received funding from Sport Godalming for six years. It enables me to have the right kit for my boat, to train, to travel and compete at the highest level possible. Funds raised through the run will help local aspiring Olympians like me to fulfil our dreams.”

With a distance to suit everyone the Godalming Run is ideal for families, individuals and groups. Runners will set off from the Godalming Bandstand in the Phillips Memorial Park. The 1k Fun Run will begin at 10.00am, the 10k at 10.30am and the 5k at 10.35am.
