Did you start the New Year with ambitious plans for a healthy new you?
The 12th annual Bolt Round the Holt will be taking place on Saturday 28th March at Alice Holt Forest, near Farnham and will give you a great incentive to keep those resolutions on the straight and narrow. It’s a charity run that is entirely off-road, following an undulating course along lovely forest paths at a time of year when everything is about to spring back to life. The run offers 5k, 10k and 21k (half marathon) distances as well as a 1k fun run for children. Canicross runners are also welcome.
The event raises money for Guildford-based bowel cancer charity GUTS so as well has helping yourself to a fabulously fit 2020, your run will be supporting a great local good cause. The charity will be using the money raised to support its Colon Cancer Family Clinic. The clinic provides screening and counselling for local families that are at an especially high risk of developing bowel cancer. The National Bowel Cancer Screening Programme screens those aged 60-74 but some people with a family history of bowel cancer are at risk of developing the disease at a much earlier age. The clinic monitors those who are not yet eligible for the national programme.
Post run physio will be provides by Ad Alta Sports Therapy, Spire Health will be present, as will Vantage Publishing .
