An undoubted festival highlight in prospect as we welcome the legendary keyboardist and much recorded composer Rick Wakeman.
The keyboard wizard makes his Petworth Festival debut with a show that combines spellbinding piano music, side-splitting humour and revealing insights into his 50+ year career. Professional musician, keyboard player, songwriter, broadcaster and raconteur, Wakeman’s professional life started as a much-in-demand session player, performing on recordings by David Bowie, Elton John, Lou Reed, and Al Stewart amongst many, but his big break came in 1971 when he joined YES, who went on to become the most successful prog rock band in the world.
Expect an evening of superb musicianship featuring music from YES, Rick’s own solo epics and early Bowie hits, plus fantastic arrangements of Beatles’ tunes, and much, much more, interspersed with knockabout humour.
Generously sponsored by Trevor & Lynne Matthews and Sacre Associates.
